Double-Decker Bus in Jakarta must Be Added

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama asserted the number if the double-decker bus is still insufficient yet. He has asked PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) to add more buses.

"Double-decker bus number is still insufficient yet and must be added," he expressed, at City Hall, Monday (1/25).

He disclosed, some donations of double-decker remains experience obstacles. This is because the Ministry of Transportation assessed bus suspension does not appropriate. As a matter of fact, the bus was produced by the famous brand, Mercedes-Benz from Germany.

"Yesterday, there was a problem about bus suspension. That's why it is somewhat impeded. According to Director General of Transportation the old one cannot be operated. But from Mercedes, say it can. So we obey what they want," he told.

According to public transport rules, he continued, the buses like metro mini and kopaja's suspension is not appropriate.

"Why they can still operate? If you want to make the bus, we have to use bus chassis," he expressed.

 

This year, the city administration will continue to add more double-decker buses. They also keep encouraging to listing the bus in e-catalog.

"This year, the bus will begin arriving. We have started to develop the appropriate ones. I think we would also purchase thus per year if it is included in e-catalog," he finished.
